First call your insurance company from one of the above numbers or your agent and they will direct you who to call.

Take a few minutes and answer the questions asked to you. You will be asked who you are and if you have a policy # that can be referenced for easier access to your information. If you do not have a policy number its OK you will need to provide the names insured and an address. You will be asked when the loss happened, and what type of loss you experienced,  be specific about your type of loss because insurance policies are very specific as to the types of coverage they provide. EX. If you report that you have a mold claim because your plumbing broke and water went everywhere and mold showed up a few days later; your claim may be denied because many policies do not include mold coverage. Instead report a water loss based on the fact that your plumbing erupted.   If you do not know what type of loss you had say you do not know. You will also be asked to provide a brief description of what happened.

If your loss is related to a THEFT or VANDALISM you will need to contact the police or proper authorities  and report the loss because  you have been the victim of a crime. In many cases a theft or vandalism claim will not be paid unless there is a police report that goes with it. When filing a theft or vandalism claim have the police report# handy if you do not have it contact your local police department and they will be able to provide you with that information.

After you file your claim you will be provided with a Claim #. Your claim number will be required for easy access of your claim file when you call your insurance company or any of there representatives to discuss your claim.

It is important that once you file your claim you keep a record of each and every phone call or and other correspondence with your insurance company.
